The Orchards Niseko

Real estate specialists Colliers International has been named as exclusive agent in Thailand for The Orchards Niseko, a Japanese luxury property that was named one of Asia’s Best Resort Residences by Property Report earlier this year.

Eddie Guillemette, founder and CEO of Niseko Resorts Group, developer of the master planned resort community, is in Bangkok from 6 to 9 August 2014 to attend an exclusive, by-invitation-only lunch meeting on Thursday, 7 August, and meet with potential clients and some members of the media to showcase the property.

“We are thrilled to be given the opportunity for our development to be showcased in Thailand by Colliers International. We have witnessed a significant increase in Thai tourists recently, which has been really positive,” said Guillemette in a statement.

He also noted that there are no restrictions on foreign ownership of freehold real estate in Japan, which could attract more Thai investors to consider purchasing properties in the country.

With the recent introduction of a 15-day visa-free period to Thai citizens, the Japanese Government is expecting more tourists from the Kingdom to visit the East Asian archipelago.

“Niseko was really popular with Thai visitors during the 2013/2014 Winter season following the recent opening up of a direct flight from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Sapporo, the largest City in Hokkaido (fourth largest in Japan),” according to Christian Robb, senior sales manager for international project sales and marketing at Colliers Thailand.

Launched last December 2013, the Alpine-inspired, build-to-order luxury residential resort is located on a 7-hectare plot in the Hirafu-Niseko area, one of the most popular ski destinations in Japan, and is surrounded by cherry trees, Mount Niseko-Annupuri and Mount Yotei.

The developers inaugurated the high-end resort property earlier this year with the opening of its clubhouse.

Upon completion, The Orchards Niseko will also feature 46 fully customised luxury homes, five commercial plots, a concierge desk, a children’s club, gym and other resort hospitality facilities.
